Adriel “A. J.” Green, wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, was selected fourth overall in the 2011 NFL Draft. In his first season with the Bengals, Green made the 2012 Pro Bowl and became the first Bengal rookie receiver to make the Pro Bowl since Cris Collinsworth in 1981.

Green’s first NFL reception with the Cincinnati Bengals was a 41-yard touchdown catch against the in-state rival Cleveland Browns. By the end of the season, Green recorded four 100-yard games and led all rookies in receptions and receiving yards, catching 65 passes for 1,057 yards in 15 games. Green’s yardage would surpass Cris Collinsworth’s franchise rookie receiving record of 1,009 yards set in 1981. But what was most remarkable was that Green accomplished all of this with fellow rookie QB Andy Dalton. Green and Dalton would go on to break the all-time NFL record for yards and receptions by a rookie QB/WR tandem.

As Green states, “it’s only the beginning; I can’t wait to see what I will have accomplished over the next ten years.”
